Why are people so cruel to animals?
People often believe that humans are cruel to animals because they just don´t know how to care for an animal. I believe people do understand cruelty and neglect, but choose to take out their problems on animals or children. A weak, insecure, emotionally bankrupt person may abuse or neglect an animal to make him/her self feel better. Poverty and hopelessness seems to influence the possibility of cruelty, yet is not an excuse or reason to hurt animals. Research has shown the connection between animal abuse and domestic violence.
