Why are people skeptical and abusive towards ESP abilities?
It’s a cultural thing. People are skeptical about what they have been taught cannot be possible, and many have not had any direct experiences themselves. There are all kinds of human motivations involved in responses to claims of ESP and other abilities -jealously that they haven’t experienced something like that, fear about how it could be used, a bad opinion about people who do not think the way they think, religious indoctrination, etc. I like the point that you make about the special sensory powers of other animals.
