Why are people in this world so crazy.. killing people, robbing banks and stores, what is going on in our world?
Unfortunately, this is not a modern issue, as criminals have existed for a long, long time (for exanple, tomb robbers in ancient Egypt). However, it would appear as though the rift between the haves and the have-nots is widening, so maybe more people are willing to break the law to survive these days, with jobs being harder to find and keep. Also, the penalties for crime, if you are caught, are mainly no deterrent any longer – even the death sentence does not deter some criminals, according to a TV program I saw in England several years ago. And a lot of it probably boils down to greed and envy, and the easiest way to get what you want is to steal it. I agree, though – it’s a sad indictment on what we assume to be the smartest species on earth and the top of the food chain.
