Why are organic products usually more expensive?
Organic products are of high quality and demand special knowledge and personal care; therefore they have a different price from the conventional ones. The slightly increased price of the organic products has to do with the organic way of cultivation, which does not help the quantitative development of the production. The limited defense of the organic products opposite the illnesses and the natural dangers, due to the absence of chemical fertilizers and pesticides, as well as the intensification of manual labor raise the production costs. All these are, of course, unavoidable, but if we consider the advantages that derive from the consumption of organic products, we will see that the relation between price and quality is to the benefit of the consumer.
