Why are organic fertilizers more expensive than synthetic/chemical fertilizers and yet still considered a better value?
Organic fertilizers are more expensive than synthetic/chemical fertilizers because the raw materials cost considerably more. In most cases, however, organic fertilizers are a better value because they don’t have to be used as often, and will have the long term benefit of improving the soil. Organic fertilizers may be more expensive, but they will improve the ability of the soil to retain and release nutrients that will reduce a garden’s overall fertilizer needs.
