Why are orchestra events held at the beginning of the week?
Orchestra events are scheduled on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday to provide the most concentrated program of events for orchestra teachers who cannot attend the entire conference. These days overlap with band events to accommodate teachers of both band and orchestra, because of the number of crossover issues pertinent to both areas and to help foster cooperation and solidarity among band and orchestra teachers, a key part of the Midwest Clinic’s mission to serve instrumental music education.
