Why are only Canadian companies listed here?
This is the *Canadian* Anime Shopping Guide, and as such lists only companies and stores based in Canada. There are plenty of web sites for other countries (such as the US), but the Guide is one of the few all-Canadian resources. When I first became interested in anime, I had a hard time getting started because there was very little on the Internet listing stores where I could find anime videos. After finding places through a little hard work, I thought it would be great to share that information with other people. And so, the Guide was born. Being a patriotic citizen, I decided to focus only on Canadian outfits, since Canadians never seem to get enough exposure in this world. 🙂 And on another note, if you’re buying products by mail, by ordering or buying from Canadian companies, you can often avoid paying duty (but not the GST), exchange, and more expensive international shipping fees.
