Why are older Hard Rock Cafe pins not worth very much anymore?

It’s a supply and demand thing. As Kacky mentioned, there are more pins available and more HR stores around the world producing them. However, I think the bigger factor is the demand. Collecting HR pins was very popular for a while, because it was new and exciting, but for many people it was a phase they were going through or something they did because their friends did. Many people just stopped buying them and moved on to something else. Same is true of Pokemon cards and all kinds of other collectibles. With fewer people wanting to add to their collections (and some people actively seeking to sell their collections), the demand reduces and the supply increases – Economics 101 says that prices go down. I think there are some exceptions. There are still many avid collectors who will pay a premium price for an older, rarer pin.
