Why are OEM versions of Microsoft operating systems not supported?
The main reason why we do not support OEM versions of Microsoft Windows is due to the fact that some companies, i.e. Compaq and IBM, add their own files to the operating system build. For example, in IBM’s version of Windows, they include a file called wm.exe which is part of their Novell communications. This causes installation issues as InTouch tries to install windowmaker which is also wm.exe an since there is already an existing one, the installation fails. Other OEM versions often include custom DLL files, renamed DLL files and missing DLL files which will also cause problems when our software is dependant on that specific DLL file.
