Why are new generating facilities needed?
The city is growing. And as it grows, so does its energy needs. Riverside Public Utilities must secure enough energy to meet these needs. Since only so much energy can come into the city from its single connection to the states energy grid, in times of great use, or emergency, it is essential to have power plants that are located within City limits to provide that extra energy.
