Why are new DVDs only released on Tuesdays?
This question is one that I have wondered the answer to for quite a while. Turns out, it was somewhat difficult to find an answer. Although I never did find an official answer, what I did find satisfied my curiosity. Basically, the reason new DVDs, CDs and Video Games are released on Tuesdays is that rental figures and music charts are released on Mondays. It only makes sense that the studios/game companies/record companies would make their releases the next day, allowing a full week to maximize the numbers that are posted the following monday.
