Why are my users getting a “You don’t have security privileges to open the Auditor window. Contact your system administrator for assistance.” message?
This message will sometimes occur if security has changed that affects Auditor’s default security settings. To resolve this, please follow these recommendations. Recommendations: Run the Re-Add Security Data task to reset the security for Auditor. To do this, please follow these steps: • Log into GP as a user in the Auditor Admin role such as ‘sa’ or a POWERUSER. • Go to Tools>>Setup>>Auditor>>Auditor Setup. • Locate the Re-add Security Data task (Depending on what build of Auditor you are using, it is either located on the Troubleshooting tab, or in the Setup Menu list). • Click on the Re-add Security Data to run the process. • Log out of GP and log back in. A user must be assigned to at least one Security Role that contains the DEFAULTUSER Task. Check the User’s Security settings to ensure the User is assigned to at least one Role with the DEFAULTUSER Task. Note that even if a User is assigned to the AUDITOR ADMIN Role, they must also be assigned to a DEFAULTUSER role.
