This is in part referred pain. Was your lower wisdom tooth impacted I am assuming not because it was a simple extraction? Any removal can shift the other teeth making them align differently. You are probably putting pressure on different areas of the top teeth. In a week or so there should be very little pain after surgery. If there still is you should probably go back to the surgeon/dentist and they can use special paper to check your bite and visually inspect the extraction site for any inflammation or infection that should not be there.
