Why are my grapes not growing fully and are already turning red?
It can take several years before your vines produce good grapes. At this age, your root structure is really working hard at getting established and will short itself on fruiting to devote its energy towards roots. Further, to get good grape yield, for the next few years you will probably need to select which bunches on grapes you want to grow and cut off the rest at an early age. Then the plant can put more energy into fewer bunches. The pros learn how to prune so that the bunches get optimum sun. Unless you are a commercial grower, you may not get those lovely bunches of grapes we see in the store. However, within the next few years, you will see more and more success and get some pretty darn good grapes.
