Why are most people afraid of failure?
I’ll repeat what some people have said with some additions: Many people grow up believing they have to be successful and that is the only option. We tie out self-esteem to our success (“We’re number 1!”). What we don’t hear about is how failure is a part of life and how many successful people come out of utter failure. Noone talks about Michael Jordan getting cut from his high school basketball team (and many other “failures). Noone talks about Bill Gates dropping out of Harvard… What I’ve learned is that great learning comes from failure. It’s disappointing if you fail and then do nothing with it. THAT is depressing…
