Why are most people afraid of death/ does death have meaning?
People are afraid of it because we don’t exactly know what will happen to us after we die. Humans are always afraid of the unknown. Maybe our religious friends can debate about this because most of them may firmly believe that there is a life after death. Imagine if a stranger asks you to ride a car with him/her and you ask where you’re going. S/he doesn’t know but says you’ll be away for good. Would you actually take the offer? Unless you’re willing to leave a life you can no longer tolerate, you’d say yes. Personally, I think death can have many meanings. But at this point of time, it seems like just an end to life, that’s all. Still, I wonder, if people completely had no notions of heaven and hell, what would death mean to them?
