Why are most Hurricane named after female?
Truth be told, it dates back to the old seafaring days when the tall ships ruled the seaways. Weather was always referred to in the feminine because it could change temperment suddenly and without warning. Hence, hurricanes and all violent weather was attributed to female range of moods. Incidently, ships were named after women because all good sailors knew that the ship required special care to sail smoothly. Is it really any different today?
