Why are most americans against a universal health care system?
As late as August 2009, more than 60% of Americans were for a universal health care system, it’s just after the onslaught of anti health care media and constant attacks by the right, that scared many people into changing their minds. Once the fear of the unknown is over, it will happen. It’s just a tool in the political wars in America.
Universal Health Care in America is like taking a major piece of the economy and taking it off the free market. We have many doctors who go into the practice to get rich. Not to really do much else, and if they save some lives, that’s a plus. I am not saying all doctors, as some are really good, but since we got this issue on hot, there are now a group of American doctors threatening to quit their practice if Health care passes. I think if we did it right, Americans would love it, but we over do it in the wrong places and it would be corrupt and mismanaged system. I still find it interesting that so many ignorant people, even friends and family, think that we need to pay for this huge mark up to have the best health care in the world, and they really believe this. They have no problem with the current system and are still spreading that old propaganda that Canadians hate their system. I have a number of Canada friends, and I frequent Canada a lot, and besides some of the rural places,
