Why are more series being produced despite the poor economy?
This is a very relative question, in that, compared to the 1990s, we’re producing far fewer titles a month. As you’d expect, we produce new titles when we have an idea we think works, a character we want to spotlight, or a story we want to tell. And while there are still DC or Image or Dark Horse or whatever publisher’s comics selling, that means there’s potential readers we’re not reaching, at least not completely. We’re competitive, we want all of your money and all of your attention, and we’ll work hard to try to achieve that.
