Why are light bulbs so important?
Well, it depends on what context you’re answering the question in. The light bulb changed the way humans live. Sure, we had candles, but the light bulb made it possible to continue many activities that previously were “daylight only” into the night. That’s a significant deviation from “natural circumstance” and the effects may not be completely known to this day. Alternately, light bulbs are so important because there are so many of them. A small increase in effeicency of all of those bulbs would have a huge impact on our energy needs. That’s why people are so interest in CFL bulbs.
