Why are kangaroos called marsupials?
are the group of mammals that give birth to very undeveloped young, which then continue most of their development in the mother’s pouch. Kangaroos have quite prominent pouches, so they tend to be the best known of the marsupials. Other marsupials include wombats, koalas, possums, wallabies, Tasmanian devils, potoroos and quolls, among other species.
