WHY ARE JAGUARS SO SKILLED AT HUNTING AND KILLING LARGE REPTILES SUCH AS ANACONDAS AND CAIMANS?
Answer Hi, Alan Jaguars are skilled at hunting large reptiles because they coexist with many of them. See, most cats, such as leopards and lions, dont like to get their feet wet and usually will stay away from water, where large reptiles like to dwell. Jaguars (and also tigers) are fond of water and will often bath, swim and even hunt in it, so, obviously, they are more likely to meet a crocodilian or a giant snake. And after thousands and even millions of years of coexisting in the same habitats, it shouldnt be surprising that tigers and, specially, jaguars (the most aquatic large cats), have developed good skills to deal with these dangerous rivals. So much in fact, that they are now part of the cat’s menu! Also, the jaguar is able to handle caimans and anacondas because it kills in a much quicker way than other cats. Lions, leopards and tigers usually kill by biting their prey’s neck until the victim chokes. This can happen within a few minutes. A jaguar, on the other hand, kills us
