Although there are certain benefits in keeping rabbits housed in outdoor hutches (who doesn’t love fresh air and sunshine?), there remain some environmental, and even psychological, stress that can adversely affect your sensitive pet. Some experts claim that you can double your rabbit’s life span by affording them with snug indoor rabbit cages. So despite the obvious appeal of keeping them in a natural outdoor environment, consider the risks before you make any decisions. Outdoor predators are a tremendous risk. The obvious calamity would be a physical breach of your hutch by a sly raccoon or feral cat. Remember that a determined predator (or an agile one), is capable of breaking wire and even unlatching doors.
