Why are indian and Sikh actors playing as a Pakistani family in Eastenders?
If I didn’t know the real names of the cast I would have believed they were Pakistani. Pakistanis don’t look much different from Indians as you already know – it used to be one country. Even the girl who played Zainab’s daughter could have passed off as an Indian had we not known her name. I didn’t even know Nina was a Sikh. And I don’t know about the “fat” comment. We can’t have the whole of Eastenders being skinny size 0 models. That just makes it even more unrealistic. And if Pakistani women today speak clear English then I don’t know but Zainab is probably in her 40s by now so she was schooled in that country quite some years back. Of course its not real though.
