Why are increments being linked to the appraisal scheme?
Increments will be paid following a satisfactory appraisal. This is not new, but to facilitate it we propose moving the timing of awarding the increment from April to July, from 2010*. Before this change, work is taking place to ensure that employees receive an effective appraisal, delivered in a timely way. (* This is a change to the MRS proposal published in October 2008.
