Why are hydraulics systems more powerful than pneumatic systems?

0

Pneumatic systems use air which can be compressed, so if you are using a jack, the air compresses, then when it cant compress anymore it pushes the ram-not as effiecient but it is popular because air is free, and doesnt make a mess when it leaks, and you dont need a resovoir, cuz the air is right there. Hydraulics us a liquid such as hydraulic fluid, which does not compress as much(most liquids do not compress very well) so when pressure is applied it pushes the ram-more effecient, but then you have to pay for the fluid, it can make a mess, and you need a resovoir to hold the fluid when you are not using it.
