Those who live in Northern Ireland seem to have a fairly sore deal when it comes to holiday choices. My brother was recently moaning to me how little choice there actually was compared to the rest of the UK when he wanted to take a two week break to Turkey in August and found that the usual suspects didn’t have anything to offer. However, if you are prepared to search for it there are holidays to Turkey from Belfast, and they are fairly cheap as well. The main airport served from Belfast seems to be Dalaman. There are a number of flights from various airlines that serve this destination. In all fairness to my brother the choice of flights is a little limited compared to other UK airports, but still makes holidays to Turkey from Belfast a feasible option. Dalaman is a perfect base to explore sites such as Ephesus, Pammukale, Dalyan and even a visit to the Greek island of Rhodes; as well as the obvious beaches; villages and towns.
