Why are Fundamentalist Christians so self-righteous considering their amoral voting records?

The vast majority of Radical Religious Right congressional representatives vote against minimum wage increases, services for the poor, funding for the homeless and mentally ill and universal health care. Religious Radical Right values are also antithetical to preserving the environment, mitigating animal suffering and protecting the average American employee when corporations feel these interfere with their profit margins. Why? In exchange for campaign funding, Religious Right Wingers and Republican legislators regularly vote in favor of corporations over the American public. Corporations fund Democrats, Independents and Libertarians as well, but since the late 1970’s, it is to a much lesser extent. This is why George W. felt the need to use the phrase “compassionate conservatism,” in the hope of combating his party’s heartless reputations.
