why are florida panthers endangered?
The Florida Panther is endangered because it has lost most of its habitat to urbanization. They used to occupy most of the southeastern United States, but now can only be found in the southern tip of Florida. Their numbers are threatened now due to being hit by cars and defects caused from inbreeding. There are believed to only be about 80 Florida Panthers in the wild today. You can find more information here: http://www.eparks.org/wildlife_protection/wildlife_facts/florida_panther.
