Why are Files Creation & Modification Dates Wrong?
This problem has been driving me crazy, my files seem to show modified & created dates at will! Generally, even files I’ve recently downloaded or added, show old creation & modification dates. Sometimes this makes it very hard even finding stuff I’ve just downloaded, since it won’t have a “today” or “yesterday”, or recent date. It also makes it impossible to see what I have that is new from a certain date in time, for backing up, etc. Some files I haven’t touched in days will even show “Today” as the date for modified, & sometimes as created, other files I may have opened or changed, and it will retain a date a year or two old! This was never an issue on Macs before, and I was told by a Mac tech person to do an “archive & install” of my OS, which I did, which made no difference whatsoever! I’ve even done a completely fresh install, along with replacing the hard drive, still the same quirks. If anyone can give me an idea of how to go about correcting this, I would be forever grateful…
