As part of UVic’s Employment Equity Program and the Federal Contractor’s Program, we need to gather and maintain information on the number of aboriginal and non-aboriginal people, persons with and without disabilities, visible minorities and majorities and women and men in its workforce. This acts as UVic’s “census” so we know who we are and how representative we are of our community UVic’s Employment Equity Plan, like the other B.C. universities, has been approved by the B.C. Human Rights Commission. The information from these questions will help us track our progress. The information is used by the Office of Equity Issues to maintain an Employment Equity database showing designated group representation and to generate statistics to assist UVic in the development of its Employment Equity program. The information is reported to the government and to the UVic community in the form of statistical summaries. No individual will be identified. Return to top Will employment equity survey res
