Why are Dulles Toll Road (DTR) drivers paying for Dulles Metrorail Project?

0

Since the 1990s, the Commonwealth of Virginia planned to fund a substantial portion of the Metrorail Project with revenues from the Dulles Toll Road. Through their contributions, DTR drivers will help to bring rail to the Dulles Corridor, as well as physical improvements to the Toll Road itself, to increase transportation options available within the Dulles Corridor. All tolls paid by DTR drivers will remain within the Dulles Corridor, where they will be expended entirely on transportation-related improvements and facilities.
