Why are DDR and SSR linked?
DDR and SSR are both recognized as key elements of post-conflict peacebuilding. DDR has a direct impact on the prospects for SSR since disarmament and demobilization often conducted before SSR is addressed set the terrain for future reform efforts by establishing the numbers and nature of the security sector.
