Why are cuban cigars regarded the best in the world?
Cubans were the best, now, they are only regarded as the best. Good tobacco requires an ideal climate to grow to its full potential, and Cuba is home to most of the few spots on earth that have this climate. Nicaragua, Honduras, and the Dominican Republic also have a few ideal locations. What makes cigars special is the blend of flavors. This is achieved by blending different types of tobacco leaves. This is much harder than it sounds, at least to make a masterpiece. The master blenders of the world used to live in Cuba, where there was the most high-quality tobacco. Once Cuba resorted to communism, these maser blenders and rollers moved to the other 3 countries previously mentioned so that they could be rewarded for their craft instead of getting the same as everyone else.
