Why are COWS important in the Hindu religion?
Buddhism comes from Hinduism and dates from around 600 B.C. Buddhism in many forms is a reformation of Hinduism that did not abolish caste but released Buddhists from caste system. While Buddhism accepted the philosophical insights of Hinduism, it tried to avoid its dogma and ceremony, while stressing tolerance and spiritual equality. Four Noble Truths exist at the heart of Buddhism: • Noble Truth of Suffering. Suffering is omnipresent and part of the very nature of life. • Noble Truth of the Cause of Suffering. The cause of suffering is desire, for possession and selfish enjoyment of any kind. • Noble Truth of the Cessation of Suffering.
