Why are consulting rates quoted per day?
You might be wondering why consulting rates are quoted on a per day basis. The answer relates to how the typical human mind works. It is well known that to reach an effective working level, humans need to take enough time to become thoroughly immersed. Without this immersion, they won’t attend to all details with a high degree of quality. Research has shown that software developers typically require three to four hours for a task to do it well. Rushing this process and cutting corners has an inevitable effect on quality. Accordingly, Building Block Software consultants never spend “only an hour” on your projects. When they are working on your projects, you can rest assured that they will spend at least half a day on them. More often than not, they will spend all day only on your project. Although the rates are quoted in terms of full days, when a consultant spends only a half of a day on your project, you are charged only for half of one day.
