Price of diamonds is affected mainly by their rarity. This is why a “normal” 5 carat diamond is worth a lot more than 5 diamonds weighing 1 carat each. Now, add the fact that only 1 carat of about 10,000 carats is a natural colored diamond and you will get your answer. By the way, this is also the reason for the great difference in prices within the different colors of natural colored diamonds.
