Why are clients required to leave the shelter during weekday business hours?

We operate with a small staff and small budget, therefore we do not have enough direct service staff to cover the weekday business hours. Also, clients are expected to look for work, housing, and additional support services during the day. We encourage them to be proactive about their situation and part of that is requiring that they leave during the day to do that.
