What you are probably seeing is Structural Patching. This may or may not be in advance of an Asphalt Overlay or Slurry Seal. Sometimes months in advance of an asphalt overlay or slurry seal the City crews will dig out and repair damaged or failed sections of pavement in preparation of the resurfacing. If there are only a few patched areas in a road, they may be isolated areas repaired by the City’s Street Department and not related to the Annual Street Preservation project.
