Why are churches that emphasise charismatic worship among the fastest growing in the UK?
I think this is because these are the churches that seem to be closest to modern culture. They sing songs that are reasonably close to mainstream style songs and they talk about issues that are current and interesting to people. Not to say that other churches do not do this. In addition, they can offer solutions to people’s problems, which is what I think many people in the UK are looking for at the moment. On the other hand, it may be because there are less obligations on members of these churches than others. They may be encouraged less to think of others and more about themselves. One thing charismatic churches are normally good at is evangelism, and this certainly helps a congregation to grow, when it is done well.
