Why are Christians not Jewish if Jesus was Jewish?
This is an incredible question! I love the idea of honoring Jesus’ Jewish-ness. I believe that it would be helpful for more Christ-followers to adopt a more in-depth knowledge and higher respect for Jesus as a Jewish man. With that said, I believe there are questions behind this question. • Is it not denying Jesus for Christ-followers to be like Jesus, without regard for his Judaism? • Why was it important to Jesus, but not important to Christians? • Why do Christians seemingly treat Jews with disdain rather than honoring their heritage? • Perhaps, you have your own questions….. While Jesus was on earth, He still hadn’t died and risen therefore conquering the law, so He remained a Jew even though He was on the scene.
