Why are chiropractors in the UK permitted to use the misleading title “Doctor”.?

I live in the US and I am a Licensed massage therapist. I used to work for a Chiropractor. They use the term “doctor” here as well. He told me that the courses were difficult and he had to learn all the bones, muscles, joints, ligaments, tendons, etc. He also had to do a residency program. I had to learn much of the same information and had an internship to become a massage therapist and I would never attempt to be called a doctor. I believe it is wrong, but may have to do with the insurance industry. They have to be called that so the insurance companies will cover the treatment. The treatments were a sham too, at least for the chiro. I worked for. I had to leave because I didn’t agree with his practice of telling EVERY patient they needed to be seen 3-5 times a week. Good Luck in your endeavor. I would like to see the same legislation passed here.
