Why are changes being made to the waste and recycling services in Solihull?
There are many reasons – we are committed to increasing the amount of waste we divert from landfill and to providing our householders with easy access to recycling facilities. There are also many other benefits to providing wheeled bins to households. They should also create space for many people – the average household will only need one bin as opposed to two or more. They are also far easier to move. Residents will simply have to wheel their bins out on collection day as opposed to emptying their dustbins. They will also help to keep our streets and roads cleaner as the waste is securely contained in the bins whilst awaiting collection. At present, bags awaiting collection are very vulnerable to attack by birds and animals.
