Why are cemeteries, battlefields, old houses, and places such as these seem to be the stereotypical places to expect ghosts to manifest?
If you recall the previous discussion from earlier in the book there are some ghosts who have a linear association that keep them bound in a certain area. Historically old places, especially places where tragedy has struck or intense psychological or emotional turmoil have taken place seem to have layers of electromagnetic emanations that cause them to be far more prone to disembodied bioelectric anomalies. That line of reasoning, coupled with the thought that the ghost may feel that they still have some work to finish, etc. at that place may indicate a strong reasoning for the stereotypes.
