Why are careers expos so early in the year?

Good question! All university career expos are scheduled to fit in with the recruitment deadlines set by the large organisations which recruit graduates. These deadlines are quite early in the year – generally from March to May. The recruitment process is normally completed by the end of the first semester and successful candidates complete their studies knowing they have a graduate position to take up the following February. Not all organisations have early recruitment deadlines; some are later in the year and some recruit year-round. However, the majority of organisations exhibiting at university career expos tend to have early recruitment deadlines.
