Why are Carbon Nanotubes so strong?
Basicaly these structures are so strong because they are built on the nano scale and are constructed by adhering the “parts” molecularly. These tubes are held together by an incredibly strong bond at a most basic level. I’m not an expert but if you can imagine that a cotton string if observed even at the microscopic level would appear to consist of many many small fibers just held together by a loose clumping then twisted to form an even more uniform adherence and then braided with several other small pieces, you kinda get the idea that if these tiny microscopic pieces were all one piece it could be incredibly strong. If you are doing a paper for phisics I would recomend articals in scientific american over the past couple years to get a precise understanding of the bonds and forces involved.
