American Indian-owned casinos are able to offer customers many services that adjacent restaurants and bars cannot. These include gambling, comedy and other entertainment shows and events. For the 750 Michigan restaurants and bars already competing with this disadvantage, taking away the ability to compete for smoking customers would give American Indian-owned establishments a stranglehold on the market and would likely force hundreds of businesses to close, eliminating thousands of jobs.
