Why are bulky or oversized items being charged extra shipping charges?
Thank you for your continued business. As a special limited time offer, we had previously absorbed shipping costs on bulk, overweight or oversized items at a tremendous loss to us. It is the industry standard that flat rate or free shipping does not include bulk, overweight or oversized items. These are very expensive items for us to ship and if we did not charge for them at our low prices we would be losing money. Even with the additional shipping charges our prices are still considerably lower than our competitors. Sometime near the end of last year all major shippers (FedEx, UPS, etc.) increased their shipping prices (some as high as 20%) on bulky items during the gas price increase, but they have not lowered them now that gas is down. Unfortunately, we would not be able to stay in business to continue to serve you unless we implemented some changes.
