Why are brothels like the Bunny Ranch legal in Nevada but not in California?
It’s about politics. Like gambling. Cal, made deals with Nevada years ago over the water rights of the River, and legal prostitution was what Cal gave the right to Nevada, among other things, like gambling. The only gambling in Cal is Federal controlled, except the bi-weekly lottery thing. Only the fed Indian nation can have casinos in Cal. So the prostitutes in Cal have to work unprotected, and lots of them are beaten by their ‘johns’ and some are killed. In Nevada, they are respected, and very clean, decent ladies. I worked as a maintenance engineer in a ranch in Pahrump for a few years. I never was allowed to be a customer, because my liscense wouldn’t allow it, and I know lots of very beautiful hard working ladies, that I have high respect for.
