Why are blue lights often used by emergency vehicles?
1) Blue light is easier to see and quickly recognizable, especially in the dark. Then again, so is red light. 2) Several lights are used on vehicles. (Red, yellow, blue and light) Different combinations in different areas, but generally in different combinations (along with different sirens) to distinguish the type of emergency vehicle. Use of blue usually means police.
